
The 8th Health Camp
The 8th Health Camp of the island-wide series organized by the Postgraduate Professional Counseling Services Association of the University of Colombo was successfully held on 27 November 2025 at the Mihindu Temple in Rajagiriya.
A range of free health services were provided to the residents of the area, including eye examinations and the provision of spectacles, outpatient medical consultations, Ayurvedic medical treatments (with medicines), blood pressure measurement, body mass index assessment with necessary advice, urine testing, blood sugar testing, psychological counseling, and several other services. Despite unfavorable weather conditions, a large number of beneficiaries attended and obtained these services.
This event received full support from the Sri Lanka branch of the Buddhaloka International Organization and the Mihindu Temple in Rajagiriya. Senior Lecturer Chinthaka Chandrakumara participated representing the Faculty of Education of the University of Colombo, and we gratefully acknowledge the guidance of the Dean, Prof. Samudra Senarath.
A number of government officials also attended the occasion, including the Divisional Secretary of Kolonnawa, the Assistant Divisional Secretary, and the Officer-in-Charge of the Gothatuwa Police Station. The Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, Ayurvedic physicians representing the Department of Ayurveda, doctors from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, and MediHelp Private Company contributed to the provision of services.
