International Symposium on Multigrade Teaching in Kyushu University, Japan

Prof. Manjula Vithanapathirana contributed to the International Symposium on Multigrade teaching organised by the Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan on the 24 th Nov. 2018. Her presentation was titled as ‘Facets of Multigrade and Multi-level teaching in the context of Learner-centred pedagogical approaches in Sri Lanka’.
Presentations were made by scholars of Multigrade teaching, Professor Emerita Angela Little from University College London, Professor Takako Suzuki from Kyushu University and Professor Keith Lewin from Sussex University, United Kingdom. The post-symposium workshop included visits to historical academy by Hirose Tanso (1782-1856) now converted to a museum a modern multigrade primary school in Nagasaki.
