Contribute to the counseling needs of the school system
The Postgraduate Professional Counseling Services Association of the University of Colombo and the Department of Educational Psychology of the Faculty of Education of the University of Colombo jointly launched the first phase of the program to contribute to the counseling needs of the school system on 04/09/2025 at Hanwella Atigala Junior College.
Programs were presented to help teachers manage problems in dealing with students and parents, as well as to manage difficulties in personal life and explain the role of parents in dealing with children.
In addition, many organized programs, such as providing support and guidance to children in order to produce a generation of children full of knowledge, attitude and skills, identifying children and families in need of counseling support were also presented here.
Mr. Chintaka Chandrakumara, Head of the Department of Educational Psychology, and Mrs. Sitari Tillakaratne, Senior Lecturer, represented the Faculty of Education at the University of Colombo in this event. Prof. Samudra Senarath’s guidance was instrumental in the successful launch of this host work, which is being carried out throughout the country.
